Pros: Locking, no collar needed.
Cons: My dogs won't use it even after training
Comments:
I have two of these doors, one goes from the laundry room to the enclosed porch and another from the porch to the outdoor kennel. I bought these doors to allow my dogs to let themselves out if they wanted to, but they refuse to use them. My bichon doesn't like either the weight or the hard plastic because she will just nose it and whine, the Pyrenees is just not interested in the outdoors. She prefers sofa over soil.
Despite the failure with the dogs, I consider the project a success. My cats love these doors. I have two 10 pounders and a 15 pounder and they use the doors to go into the now completely enclosed kennel (top too as we have owls and neighbors who shoot cats for sport).
I am purchasing another one to close the laundry off from the kitchen so that my dogs stay out of the litterbox and cat food. I will be attaching it to a pet gate with a door so that my ability to move easily between rooms isn't impossible (short legs).
This is a wonderful door. I like that it has a manual lock because I don't want collars on my cats and there is too much room for failure.
I did make one change to the door. I painted glow in the dark green paint onto one side of the dial so I knew which way it was pointing so I knew how it was locking without testing the door. I would also like this door to come in white as the gray doesn't go with my home, but for the features, this door can't be beat.
