Pros: comfortable feel, relieves tension on joints
Cons: limited experience with product
Comments:
My boyfriend and I used the Sof-Grip Leash Handle to take our 70-lb Labrador for a walk. I will admit that the product seemed like a gimmick at first, but by the end of the walk we were both pleasantly surprised.
Our dog pulls pretty hard on her leash, and my whole arm is typically extended and locked at the wrist and elbow - pretty uncomfortable. Gripping the handle (rather than looping the leash over my wrist and grabbing the rope) was a lot easier. I could actually bend my elbow, and used my bicep to pull back on the leash rather than my wrist.
My boyfriend was surprised at how much he liked the handle. He described it as "soft but still firm and it felt durable." The handle prevented the pinching and friction that happens when he holds the bare leash. At one point, our dog lunged after something and he was able to keep a tight grip without a problem.
Overall, the handle is "more comfortable than it looks." We tried it on only one walk, and therefore can't attest to its longterm durability, but I think it's worth the price. We would both recommend it to anyone with a dog that pulls on its leash or to anyone with wrist or joint problems - this is much easier to hold!
